Baby Nursery is completed!

So I haven’t posted on the blog forever. It has gotten so busy and hectic that I just have not had time to do so. So as you all know. We are having a baby girl in a couple of weeks. We just finished decorating the nursery. It is really girly and turned out super cute. Here are the pics.

The House is Finished!!!!!!!!! Finally!!!!!! 10 months in the making!

Construction has completed on the house. We never thought this day would actually come. We are so happy that we have accomplished this and we are truely proud of our feat. We learned so much in the process and grew a lot. We had our disagreements on things along the way, but it definitely made our marriage stronger.

I was able to take some pictures of the house in it finished state (except final cleanup and paint touchups). The most amazing thing was the carpet. It is the thing that definitely turns it into a home.
We got our carpet from South Valley Floors. It turned out amazing. I really like how it compliments everything. A great finishing touch on our project. Here are the pictures of the different areas of the house.

So as you can see… the carpet turned out really, really nice.

We also installed the bathroom mirrors within the last few days as well. Here are the pics for those.

They also took the blankets off the concrete, so we get our first full view of the driveway. I have another pic of the walkway to the door but it did not turn out.

We also got the microwave installed and haven’t had a chance to post it.

We thank everyone for following us in our journey and supporting us in the great endeavor that we have done. I am glad that everyone enjoyed the blog and my (Jordon) horrible grammar.
We should hopefully close on the loan within the next week and be in the house by mid-March at the latest. Stay tuned for our future posts about our closing, moving in, home furnishing shopping and upcoming house warming party.

We are that much closer!

So we have got a quite a bit more done in this last week. Here are the pictures as a result.

We finally ripped the protective covering on the pantry door to expose the glass door there. It is pretty cool looking.

Here are our beautiful appliances. We love them. They definitely bring the kitchen to life. We still have to install the microwave as shown in the last picture. Hopefully that will be done by the electrician on Monday or Tuesday.

Plumbing Fixtures

Here is the sink and the faucet in our half bath. It turned out sooo awesome.

Here is the plumbing fixtures in our shower. We unfortunately have to return the shower heads because they don’t work with our setup or our water pressure. We are kinda bummed because they are so freakin cool. Hopefully we can find replacements that as cool.

The house should be finished this week.

Monday: Carpet, finishing touches on electrical work.
Tuesday: Carpet if not finished, deck wrapup and install of mirrors.
Wednesday: Final Cleanup
Thursday: Final Inspection (we so so hope), Paint touchups

Hopefully we don’t have too much go awry with the inspection and pass it first time… (haha). But hopefully it is not too bad.

We are almost there and so happy.

We went to the house yesterday and it was very very exciting. The house is soooooo close to being done!!!

These are the pictures of cabinets with the countertops installed. The countertop contractor finished everything else up today. All they had left was cutting holes for faucets, and for our vessel sink.

Here are some photos of the garage doors close and a few different angles. What you see on the far away pictures is the exterior in finished form. You can even see a little bit of the driveway exposed.

So we are so very close. Here is a list of the final things that need done.
1. Finish Plumbing (2/10)
2. Carpet (2/12-2/13)
3. Final Cleanup (2/13-2/16)
4. Final Inspection (2/16-2/18)
5. Financing (not sure, hopefully not very long)

and then there were…. CABINETS!!!!!!!!

We can finally move on! The cabinets have been installed throughout the early part of the week. This was pretty much holding the entire progress of the house. But they are up and they look pretty cool so far.
They still have some finish work to do on them… which is being done on Monday. But the main thing is that the countertop contractor can now measure and template the granite.

Above the stove… when I was there this morning… the cabinets on the left side where not up yet. They should be now.

Deck, Stairs and Shower Glass Enclosure

So there was a plethora of items done when I went to the house this morning. It was exciting to see the stuff done. I made the house that much closer to being done.

The deck is pretty much finished… it just need the stairs built off of it. It should be finished soon.

This turned out nice too… It is made of the same material as the deck in the backyard.

Wow… these turned out really nice. I am really impressed by how the shower glass turned out. It looks like it was installed well too. This definitely a homerun.

So overall the work completed this week is going really well. We are sooo close to being done.

Garage Doors Installed

The garage doors got installed this morning. They are beautiful. They were ordered and installed by Martin Doors.

We had to go and take pictures of installed so the bank can pay them.

This week the following will happen. (Hopefully)

1. The shower glass contractor will come install that in the master bathroom on Wednesday.
2. Cabinets may be installed on Friday… but if they are not, then Monday of next week. (blah) This is holding up a lot of progress on the house. It is really frustrating.
3. Ordering the hardware, having them delivered and potentially having them installed. This depends if the cabinets are finished.
4. Building of steps from garage to interior of house on Tuesday or Wednesday
5. Building of deck in the back yard outside of our kitchen nook door on Tuesday or We
6. Installation of garage doors on Monday
7. Install of water meters.

Once these things are done… all we have left is cabinets, countertops, finish plumbing, carpet, final cleanup, touchups, final inspections and financing.

Sink pictures and updates

We have had this sink in our house for a while, but I don’t have any new pictures because we did not make it down to the lot this week. This sink is for our downstairs half bath. We really like this sink. The color is called Speckled Copper. It is a vessel sink, which means it rest above the countertop (ohhhh fancy). We ordered it through http://www.envirobath.com/.

Here is what is suppose to happen this week

1. Finish heating
2. Cabinets (if they get their act together)
3. Garage stairs
4. 8′ x 8′ deck off back of house
5. Prelim countertop stuff
6. Garage doors (hopefully)
7. Shower glass doors
8. finish electrical (switch and plug covers and vanity lights)
9. When cabinets get done… hardware and possibly door knobs

Lets hope this stuff gets done… we are getting really close.

Painting is Complete!!!!

We went out to the lot today to check out the paint job now that it is finished. We really like the colors that we chose out.

This is our front door. We think that it looks awesome.

Here is our stairs and railing. It turned out really nice as well. Some of the pictures make it look really light, but it actually shows darker once you are in the house.

Pictures throughout the house of the paint colors on the trim and walls. We really love this as well. When we were there today we just sat on the fireplace step and stared in awe. We are really happy with our accomplishment. The paint makes it really seems like a real house. One thing that was kinda frustrating was they did not paint the outside of the exterior doors. Not sure what that is all about, but it will be taken care of.

Things happening this week.

1. Finish lighting will be completed this week (stay tuned for pictures)
2. Cabinets will be delivered and installed this week.
3. If we order garage doors on Monday or Tuesday, they may be installed by the end of the week.
